Coming Soon to a Campus Near You.................

I love this time of year......April is always the month when my social media accounts are filled with pictures of New Sorors/Sistergreeks/Fraternity crossing over into Greek-land. This weekend alone, I have seen over 15 Delta Chapters post pictures of their new members. My heart is warm. I also received email msgs from people who have followed my blog send me pictures of themselves in their paraphernalia. (18 Deltas, 5 AKAs, 2 Zetas, 3 Alphas, 1 Omega, and 3 Kappas to be exact so far). Although this is a time for celebration, and happy tears for some, this is also a time of sadness, or bitterness for others. This can be due to not making "line" receiving a letter of rejection, and not understanding how she made it, and you didn't. I have addressed this in my blog before, so I won't rehash what I have already stated, but remember there is always next time. Not making "line" the first time is NOT the end of the world...It will just make the time when you DO make the line, that much sweeter, TRUST ME!

If you have a friend/family member that just crossed into GreekLand, congratulate them. Tell them you are genuinely happy for them.  You never know, that may be YOU next year. :)

  3. How do I show interest in a sorority if they are currently suspended, but they will be back on campus before I graduate? Also there are currently no student members on campus.

    1. If there aren't any members on campus try reaching out to the local graduate chapter, they should be able to help.

  4. What are your thoughts on post pledging? Is there a purpose to it? Do you have an email to communicate privately?

  5. Hi, I was texted by a member of an organization in the effort of recruiting me. At that point in time, I was interested in the org she was a part of BUT was deciding between hers and another. Because I had not yet made up my mind, I replied saying that I needed to do more research and get to know the girls but that I was interested. Now, after doing those things, I have realized that her org is not for me and I feel that I have found that right org for me. Have I dug myself into a hole by saying that I was interested without having clarified that I was also considering other organizations?

    1. Identify a graduate chapter of the sorority in your community. Attend their public events. Visit their website for updates. Ask to be on the mailing list. Do community service and stand out from the crowd. Good luck.

  9. I've recent attend an event where I meet with several key members (E-Board members) of the BGLO I want to join. The interactions I had with the chapter members were VERY good. However, its been a while since I attended one of their events or spoken to them. I want to reach out to the chapter members I meet (via text message) just to follow up and remain relevant and engaged.

Should I text the E-board member(s) I met or should I wait to be contacted by them?

(BTW I've recently have received a friend request from said E-board member(s)on various social media sites)
