It's that time once, again!
Just stopping by to wish everyone all the best as Rush Season is upon us. Stay true to yourself, stand out, and network, network, NETWORK!
Hi! Im an atl rushee and my interview was Monday the 28th. I counted all the spots based on the links from Sunday the 27th to Saturday the 5th and there were 741 girls interviewed. Its definitely a long shot with only 113 being taken.
That is a crazy number! To have 741 ladies to get recommendations from a financial/active delta is amazing in itself! Kudos to them even they if don't get picked. They are obviously doing something correct.
Im thinking it will take about 2 weeks before calls go out. Im so nervous. I was asked 6 questions with 3 or 4 being situational. What about you ladies?
I have not received a call. I was told they were only picking around 112 ladies out of about 600. I am not too confident that I will be receiving a phone call. Rush: 01/23 Due Date: 02/02 Interview: 02/24
Does anybody form the ATL Alum Rush remember what were the dates they stated we needed to be available? Good Luck Ladies. Here is my timeline: Rush: 1/30/22 App Deadline: 2/9/22 Interview E-mail: 3/2/22 Interview: 3/4/22 Call for Membership: Prayerfully SOON!
If chosen, does anyone know if we pay online vs in-person? I have a work trip coming up next weekend and don't wanna miss making that payment in-person if chosen.
I find it hard to believe that no one is saying anything about this wait in ATL. I've posted a few times and I don't see it. I don't think our messages post hourly or even daily. Its so odd from the previous years when we would see lots of comments from people which helped with support. How are you all feeling?? What is taking so long??
Our posts are clearly not updated hourly. More like the next day or so. The comments have to be approved. Maybe the mod doesn't have the time to release the comments shortly after we posts like it's been done in the past. ♀️ At this rate, we won't share in each other's calls/emails in real time to know what's going on AS IT HAPPENS.
I really don't believe calls have been made. I have multiple friends that have also applied and interviewed. I just can't believe none of us have heard anything.
After reading the info shared on this blog I went back into the portal where we submitted our applications and it shows "Chapter review" - here is also a note that was listed on the application page, "If you do not complete the application or you are not selected for membership, the account will be disabled and removed within 60 days."
No calls have been made in Atl. I dont even think rejection letter emails have went out. I know several women interviewed and no one has heard a peep. This is a lonnnng wait. *sigh* We all just have to stay patient and hopefully we hear something this week
Unfortunately I received a "letter of regret" via e-mail. I am heartbroken this is my 3rd time trying. I will continue to try however I often think is this the right organization for me if they do not want me as much I want them. #atlantaalumnae Good Luck and Congratulation Ladies.
Don't give up. I've tried four times, interviewed two of those times (received rejection letter after both interviews). Am I going to give up, not at all. This is something I've been wanting for a long time. I've started going to my local chapter events and doing more volunteering. When the time comes I'm going to be ready.
I'm late to the party and to this blog, but...wow! What a gem to find, especially for those interested in DST. While looking through some of the posts, what worries me is the variability of Rush dates (particularly the month they're held in). What I'm guessing is that larger alumnae chapters have earlier Rush dates (around late December, early January), and smaller chapters MAY have them in January-ish? My biggest worry is how much service hours I'll have by the Rush, primarily because of how variable the scheduling it. I moved and changed the place I did service at last year, so I essentially had to start from scratch. Just hoping I can make it through this time, as it will be my third time trying!
It’s a little too late in the year to have one this year but depending on the org, if they are having one, they will have it in late Jan or early Feb so keep a look out!
**delete if not allowed, but I saw someone post a similar comment a few years ago doing the same thing for Montgomery County, MD, so here goes nothing lol** Hi everyone! If you're in Baltimore, MD (city) and are an #Crimson and Cream aspirant, please keep reading! I want to connect with you! Unfortunately, my COI does not hold many events and I would like to explore other chapter events around my area. There are two chapters in Baltimore that hosts events and I'd love to have friends with similar aspirations to go to events with, as I don't have friends who are interested in Greek life.
If you're interested, I have a throw away email (not in my real name). PLEASE email me so we can connect! There's a virtual event this week on 12/15 and an upcoming Day Party in February, I'd love to meet up there and encourage each other!
abecedarian.436 at gmail.com (Gabrielle is not my real name lol) PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU FIT THIS DESCRIPTION! Let's hold each other accountable and have fun going to events together!
It’s that time! I’m excited. There was a rush in my area and the applications are due soon. I’m claiming that it’s my time and I praying I have favor from God!!
1/20 - 11 am Did you get your app turned in? After checking over it 1000 times I got it turned in Saturday! There were SO many people there so hopefully we get a semi-quick turnaround to notify us if we got an interview or not!
If you are pursuing graduate membership and you are currently enrolled in a Masters program.. will they need the transcripts from the completed bachelors degree or from the Masters degree that is currently in progress?
No, the process was literally halted not even 24 hrs after the application links were emailed! Application fees were refunded…cease all RUSH application activities. I assume an internal mistake was made! Who knows…just disappointing!
I see ALOT alumnae chapters having a rush this year. They're not having one where I live, but I'm glad to see it for other cities!!!! Good luck, ladies!
I’m praying that the fully online application process makes the timeline shorter…unless the wait is a part of the process. I’m definitely overthinking every single thing.
@ January 24, 2023 at 4:27 AM Just curious, with the new online application process, are you able to save your work and work on/review the application before pushing submit? When I applied before I remember reviewing the paper version 1000 times before putting it in the mail. Just wondering if it's a one and done
I’m right there with you. Seems like with everything being submitted electronically that it would shorten the wait for the call for an interview. I’m thinking hey, I’ve been waiting for 15 years to pursue membership for XYZ, so another couple of weeks won’t hurt lol.
I know that blanks were a huge deal in the past and grounds for rejection but I just noticed after I submitted I left the maiden name blank bc I don’t have one. They never made that explicitly known to not leave anything blank. I’m so freaking out.
Yes! I was looking at other years and some people had 20+ days. I’m glad we only have 10 though. My nerves couldn’t even imagine 20+. Get it in and hopefully get interviewed earlier (I don’t think so, but hoping)
Rooting for you all! Unfortunately, in December I moved from an area with an alumnae chapter that I had established a good relationship with over the last couple of years. They sent me a RUSH invitation recently, but I had to let them know I wasn't eligible due to the move 😭. So, I'm going to live vicariously through you all until it's my time!!
Hey everyone, does anyone have any experience applying with a misdemeanor on their record? The rush I’m going to is in two weeks and I just found out that there may be something on my record and I don’t want to apply and embarrass myself.
What kind of things do you do to keep your mind off of this process? It’s getting better with time, but I’m still struggling to focus. It’s only been 2 days😩
I went to rush and they did not Gove a line cap like I have heard in the past. I wonder if that means there is no cap. Did they give line cap for the recent rush you all went to?
atl rushees where yall at?! Im so excited
ReplyDeleteHi,
DeleteI am an Atlanta Rushee! I had my interview last night. There are so many people vying for a small number of spots! I am scared.
Hi,
DeleteI am an Atlanta Rushee! I had my interview last night. There are so many people vying for a small number of spots! I am scared.
Atl Rushee here too. I interviewed last night.
DeleteWhen y'all hear something, please post here. I wanna know when they'll start making calls!!!
yes! I heard that there were over 1,000 applicants for a cap of 113.
Delete113 cap for Atlanta alumnae??
DeleteATL Rushee here. Now that interviews are over the wait brings (again). I can’t believe the cap is 113.
DeleteI am here. I interviewed on the 22nd and am waiting for the infamous "call for membership"!
ReplyDeletemy interview is today so they're still interviewing! how do you think it went?
DeleteThey were doing interviews that early? I thought they just started on the 27th?
DeleteI heard they started on the 27th as well. Anyone have any other insight about when interviews are over? or anything else. I'm extremely anxious.
Delete-Aspiring AAC
Hi! Im an atl rushee and my interview was Monday the 28th. I counted all the spots based on the links from Sunday the 27th to Saturday the 5th and there were 741 girls interviewed. Its definitely a long shot with only 113 being taken.
ReplyDeletewhew 741! thats useful information. i wonder when the chapter vote will be. from previous years, i read that most folks waited like 3 weeks.
Delete-Aspiring AAC
That is a crazy number! To have 741 ladies to get recommendations from a financial/active delta is amazing in itself! Kudos to them even they if don't get picked. They are obviously doing something correct.
DeleteWow. That’s a lot of women that won’t be chosen. Becoming part of the 113 is definitely a long shot.
DeleteThat’s a lot of women that won’t be chosen. Keep everyone updated if you receive a call.
Deletei will keep yall updated about calls for sure.
DeleteIm thinking it will take about 2 weeks before calls go out. Im so nervous. I was asked 6 questions with 3 or 4 being situational. What about you ladies?
Deletei think i was asked 6 questions as well. how do you think it went for you? it was kinda hard to tell for me
DeleteI thought my interview went really good.I was very prepared and im hoping it pays off. What about you?
DeleteI was prepared as well. The interviewers were very sweet so that helps!
DeleteAny Charlotte Rushees?
ReplyDeleteI have not received a call. I was told they were only picking around 112 ladies out of about 600. I am not too confident that I will be receiving a phone call.
ReplyDeleteRush: 01/23
Due Date: 02/02
Interview: 02/24
What city are you in? Or what alumnae chapter did you apply to?
DeleteWhen y'all hear back via email or call, please let us know. It'll be nice to gauge when calls will start or the dreaded emails.
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody form the ATL Alum Rush remember what were the dates they stated we needed to be available? Good Luck Ladies. Here is my timeline:
ReplyDeleteRush: 1/30/22
App Deadline: 2/9/22
Interview E-mail: 3/2/22
Interview: 3/4/22
Call for Membership: Prayerfully SOON!
they said march-april to be available!
DeleteMy timeline is the same as above (March 7 at 4:32)
DeleteI thought they gave a more specific time frame. Remember?
DeleteThey did. Mon-Friday: 7-11:30 pm and 9 am-11:30 pm on weekends .... to make yourself available during those timeframes.
DeleteNo they were not specific. They just said to have availability for March and April. The line will start this month and end in April
DeleteOh yes they gave times once online. I thought you meant the length of time online.
DeleteVoting is Saturday. Not sure when calls or invitation emails will go out.
ReplyDeleteSaturday? you got this from a source or did you do some digging?
Deleteis this for ATL rush
Delete3/7/2022 at 6:17 is this for ATL or Charlotte?
DeleteOh wow! Thats good news. So i think it will be a couple of weeks before we know.
DeleteFor Atlanta. I don't think it will be a couple of weeks I think we will know next week.
ReplyDeletewhy do you think that, March 7 at 8:57?
DeleteDoes anyone who rushed the Charlotte, NC alumnae chapter know when calls may happen?
ReplyDeleteI received my Charlotte rejection email today around 4:30.
DeleteWas your rejection email after you did an interview or before?
DeleteAfter my interview
DeleteIs it me or does it seem like there isn't alot of Alumnae Spring Rushes this year?
ReplyDeleteI wonder if we have to be on the lookout for mail or email? Email seems like it would be the go to method of correspondence but im not sure.
ReplyDeleteI received my rejection letter via email (Charlotte)
DeleteSo sorry to hear that. When did you receive the email?
DeleteOn 3/8 around 4:30
DeleteI received my rejection email as well. I will keep trying.
ReplyDeleteSo nervous!
ReplyDeleteRush: 1/30/22
App Deadline: 2/9/22
Interview E-mail: 2/28/22
Interview: 3/2/22
Call for Membership: SOON!
I hope they start soon.
So nervous and patiently waiting for the call
DeleteDid anyone hear any news worth sharing about Atlanta? A friend of mine interviewed on Sunday. I thought last Saturday was the last day.
ReplyDeleteThis is gonna be tough decisions for them to narrow things down. I'm still hoping we'll hear something next week.
ReplyDeleteLet's all come back and post when we hear back.
Line cap is now 119
ReplyDeleteI wonder why they increased it. hmm... well that's good!
DeleteIs this for Atlanta?
DeleteYes this is for Atlanta
DeleteIs it still the consensus that we'll know something next week?
ReplyDeleteI think we will.
DeleteIf chosen, does anyone know if we pay online vs in-person? I have a work trip coming up next weekend and don't wanna miss making that payment in-person if chosen.
ReplyDeleteI’ve heard from the last line that crossed during the pandemic that they met in person to pay. Kinda also did a meet and greet.
Deleteoh wow thanks for that information! here's to hoping we have a decision by the end of the week. Good luck!
DeleteThey said you pay in person at the Rush.
DeleteYou also have to be vaccinated (and boosted, if you're due for one). So paying in person would be a good time to go ahead and verify your vaccination.
DeleteThey didn't say pay in person at the rush. They said pay online. People do not listen.
DeleteYou will pay online, they mentioned paypal during RUSH.
DeleteAnyone from the Atlanta 1/30 Rush keep checking here a thousand times a day to see if anyone posted any updates? Or os it just me Lol!
ReplyDeleteI check throughout the day for updates as well. Hopefully we hear something this week! #ATL
DeleteDon't be nervous...it was 900 women interviewed....we basically have a low chance.
DeleteThat’s so crazy to me that they would even allow that. Then turn around and only pick 119.
DeleteAnyone from the Atlanta 1/30 Rush keep checking here a thousand times a day to see if anyone has updates? Or is it just me? Lol!
ReplyDeleteI’m so nervous y’all. Waiting on my call #ATL
ReplyDeleteSo nervous and patiently waiting for the call
ReplyDeleteSo nervous and patiently waiting for the call #ATL
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to know! Hoping it'll be in a couple of days.
ReplyDeleteI am on pins and needles. I keep checking my emails and jumping to grab my phone when it rings. I hope we know something soon. #atl
ReplyDeleteTell me about it. Trying to keep busy. Stomach in knots. #atl
DeleteMe too!!!! Whew....
Deleteme too! the wait is so hard.
DeleteI hope they start reaching out today! Fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone check where they submitted the application to see if the status has changed? Mine still says Chapter review. #ATL
ReplyDeleteYes, I've checked mine and it says chapter review.
DeleteJust checked and mine won’t let me log in. Gives Error message.
DeleteHow long has it been since everyone’s interview? #atl
ReplyDelete3/3.
DeleteI interviewed 3/3. Patiently waiting for the call. Best Wishes to all!!!
DeleteMy interview was on 02/28. Its been 2 weeks.
ReplyDeleteWith covid, how did they handle the community service requirements?
ReplyDeleteIt was a minimum of 120 hours over the last 4 years and they did not have to be consecutive once covid started
DeleteIs there anyone from Greensboro in here waiting?
ReplyDeleteWhat is taking so long? My nerves are so bad right now. Anyone else?
ReplyDeleteHas anyone heard anything about AAC?
ReplyDeleteNothing yet
DeleteJust curious, are y'all doing interviews via zoom or are they back in person? Good luck to everyone pursuing this season!
ReplyDeleteinterviews were via zoom
DeleteThe interviews were done via zoom
DeleteThanks!

DeleteI was hopeful we'd hear something this week, but there is really no telling. We just have to wait.
ReplyDeleteMy excitement is starting to go away the longer it takes.
DeleteIf I could be honest I’ve been trying my best to hang on to the money for the dues but this is crazy.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if calls have already been made, and they're just not doing rejection letters.
ReplyDeleteThat’s a good point as well.
DeleteI really don't believe calls have been made. I have multiple friends that have also applied and interviewed. I just can't believe none of us have heard anything.
DeleteI heard frimom a reliable source that calls have not been made yet. Rejection emails will go out if we are not selected
DeleteI am about 2 seconds away from calling the membership numbers they gave us at rush! Haha! I am about to go crazy! #atlalum
ReplyDeleteWhew!!! I appreciate y'all giving feedback! I'm sooooo ready to know.
ReplyDeleteDid ya'll reliable source WHEN calls will likely happen??
I didnt ask. I was told calls have not been made and to be patient. My guess is next week.
ReplyDeleteHow is everyone holding up? Hopefully we hear something this week. This has been the longest wait
ReplyDeleteIs there anyone from Houston on here waiting on "the call?"
