It’s that time again!!!!! I hope you all are ready for this season. Remember, if it’s your time, IT’S YOUR TIME! A few things to keep in mind:
-
If you need a letter of recommendation from a financial member of the organization you want to join, make sure you provide them with all the details well in advance.
-
Meet ALL deadlines. There will be hundreds of prospects vying for a spot, so make sure everything is submitted on time and in order.
-
If you need a copy of your transcript, request it now rather than later. You don’t want that to be the reason you’re held up.
-
Funds matter. Hopefully, you’ve been saving! It would be unfortunate to be selected and then unable to continue due to a lack of funds.
-
Have someone you trust—and preferably a member of the organization—review your packet. They can help guide you and ensure everything is complete and correct.
-
Ask questions! Rush is not only a time to receive information but also to ask questions. You should be well-informed about the process and expectations.
-
Review your application multiple times. Make sure everything is filled out correctly. If something doesn’t apply to you, write N/A instead of leaving it blank.
-
Stay busy! Once your application is submitted, keep yourself occupied while you wait to hear back. It’s easier said than done, but it truly helps.
-
Don’t HATE. I get it—you may feel your packet was perfect, yet still wasn’t chosen for whatever reason. Remember, most organizations don’t rely solely on your packet; members also vote on who they want in their chapter. If it’s not your time, don’t give up. Keep pushing forward. Many people who’ve followed my blog for years didn’t make it until their 3rd or 4th try. Go back and read the comments—you’ll see. They didn’t quit, and neither should you.
-
GOOD LUCK! Wishing you all the best as you apply to the organization of your dreams.
Yay! When the spring rush thread gets posted, you know it's on and poppin! Thanks so much for the advice and new thread. Good luck ladies, let's get it!
ReplyDeleteExcited for this years Rush events to be posted!
DeleteMy chapter of interest just posted their rush flyer! So exciting
ReplyDeleteMine did as well! I am excited and nervous at the same time. It has been almost a decade since my COI has had intake.
DeleteGood luck ladies. My COI is not having rush this year....it will be 7 years. I'll just keep patiently waiting and rooting for you all to make it.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this blog and posts. They've been super helpful. I've been a silent reader for 3 years now. And to those who have gotten notices of Rush, good luck! ❤️π«ΆπΎ
ReplyDeleteHappy Founders Day @Dablest_1 !
ReplyDeleteThank you for the advice. I sm excited for this journey. Good luck everyone! π
ReplyDeleteHello ladies. This time last year I was on this blog waiting/ready for the Spring 2025 Rush post. This blog has been such a resource of shared support when I was going through my application process. I look forward to seeing your posts and updates, your triumphs, and seeing you on "this" side. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteIt’s been 12 years for my COI….still waiting
ReplyDeleteAt least 2 DMV rushes this weekend that I’ve seen
ReplyDeleteYep. And at least one more is coming soon.
DeleteHi everyone! I wishing everyone the best of luck! For the people that have received a date for rush, is it only publicized on the website or did they post on social media pages? Also, is registration required? There was a lot madness last year, lol, and I am trying to see if any changes have been made.
ReplyDeleteIt depends on the chapter. My COI has not posted on social media or FB, but they posted on their website. Just check them all regularly to make sure you catch it. Good luck!
DeleteTo my knowledge the pre-registration is preferred, but not required. Not sure why they started doing it, but maybe it helps determine how many people will be in attendance? As long as you show up on time, you should be fine. I filled out the registration just in case it helps in some way. LOL.
DeleteThank you for makkng this post!
ReplyDeleteAre rush announcements still being posted on social media or just chapter websites? For the flyers I've seen on Google, I've noticed that they're not posted when I check the respective chapters social media pages
I’ve only seen them being posted on their website. It was kind of hidden on COI website where I’ve been checking the events section and that is not where the rush announcement was posted.
DeleteThe few rushes I’ve seen posted were on website only & had registration links
ReplyDeleteHas anyone ever heard of exceptions being made to rush attendance? Like if more than one can be offered? I'm out of town and will be getting home the day after area's chapter is hosting rush. Is it over for me?
ReplyDeleteNo. You will have to try again in a few years.
DeleteI'll just say, it doesn't hurt to ask. But you need to say something before rush, not after. if it were me, I would change my plans unless the chapter you're pursuing has intake often, or if it's work related and you can't.
DeleteI'm the one who said it doesn't hurt to ask, but forgot to clarify, that my comments only referred to alumnae chapter only not UG.
DeleteIt will be over for you. Can you come back early or you will have to wait unfortunately!
DeleteYou should make arrangements to get home for RUSH, as you must be present for the entire presentation in order to receiving application. If not, you may not have another opportunity for several years
DeleteYou must be able to attend the date listed. They would not agree to having more than one per Rush season. Your best bet is to change your flight or wait until next time.
DeleteAny rushes in NY?
ReplyDeleteWhere in NY? I saw a Rush flyer for undergrad colleges in NYC.
DeleteI saw that too. Wonder if any alumnae chapters will have
DeleteAnyone attending Chicago Alumnae?
ReplyDeletehow was the rush experience? I imagine it being packed
Delete@3:27pm if you are referring to CAC, yes it was packed but very well organized
DeleteAnyone attended Metropolitan Dallas?
ReplyDeleteI wonder what MDA line cap will be. Last line was in 2018 and 36 crossed. They had over 1k at the rush.
DeleteAnyone attend Metropolitan Dallas?
ReplyDeleteI seemed like its was well over 1k at rush π₯΄
ReplyDelete@ 1/17 7:39… we may have been at the same rush! Every seat was taken!
DeleteWhat chapter?
Delete@ 1/17 8:20pm Metropolitan Dallas
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know when they will post (D)MV rush?? I’ve been keeping my schedule free because I don’t want to plan anything and miss it.
ReplyDelete@jan 18 6am: they’ll likely post dc rush within the next week and a half. They have 2 so make sure you know which your zip code would belong to.
DeleteI heard that there were no plans for a DC rush this spring.
DeleteIn recent years their intake has been very infrequent. WDC's last two lines were 7 and 12 years apart. FC was 18 years. They both had lines in 2020. Hopefully they won't make people wait that long for the next one.
Delete@January 18, 2026 at 12:37 PM both DC alumnae chapters cover all of DC, regardless of zip code
DeleteIs anyone going to NoVA rush?
ReplyDeleteI was there
DeleteChicago Alumnae is doing Rush. Does anyone know if CMAC is as well π
ReplyDeleteCMAC is not
DeleteIf my COI has not posted rush yet, does that mean they are not posting for the spring?
ReplyDeleteNope. It's still early. There's a chapter in my area that's doing intake and hasn't posted yet. I wouldn't start to worry until mid Feb if this is alumnae/grad chapter. UG maybe a little sooner.
DeleteI really enjoy this blog looking at the everyone’s progress. Good luck everyone!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if Atlanta or Atlanta Suburban will have a rush for Spring 2026?
ReplyDeleteI havent heard about those having one this year so I doubt it. I know Coweta county Deltas are. Thats the Newnan and Lagrange area.
DeleteAnyone know if any TN chapter is doing intake?
ReplyDeleteThe entire state? LOL
DeleteNashville alumnae
DeleteYes, Nashville is having a rush. Looks like they just announced it.
DeleteI see many expressing grievances about grad chapters across the country having Rush years apart, sometimes more than a decade. Does anyone know why that is? Why is that allowed? Hopefully, there will be some sort of minimum standard that requires a Rush every few years instead of this infinite time between rushes.
ReplyDeleteHow it was explained to me is, it's a long process and a lot goes into it. Also, grad chapters don't need to bring in new members all the time like UG does.
DeleteI wish they could do rushes sooner, but it would just be a lot on some chapters to do it back to back.
There are so many factors that go into alumnae chapter approval. Many members are settled in their lives and city, so they seldom leave the chapters. Collegiates are always going to graduate, so they must have intake more often to continue the chapter's activity.
DeleteI'm so happy this blog is continuing to post! Does anyone know if the Dade county DST alumnae chapter is hosting a rush this spring?
ReplyDelete@jan 20 4:45: I only saw Broward county so far.
DeleteA lot of people are asking if their COI is having rush.. Very important to make those connections and get to know the members! Good luck to everyone!
ReplyDeleteThis is the best advice! If you're not hearing about intake well before rush is announced, you're not doing this right.
Delete
ReplyDeleteif you have been a pyramid before and were not initiated due to reasons outside of your control, does it effect you negatively if you try again?
I don't think anyone here can answer that, as I'm sure there's more to this story. Ask a member friend for the best advice.
Delete@ 1/21/26 9:54am….definitely try again and attend rush! This happened to my niece in UG….she was selected but something happened and the ladies couldn’t go on line so she tried again her senior year and made line again and officially crossed last year right before graduation!!
Deletechapters have active members that are participating in activities and the work of the chapter, there is really no rush to hold RUSH as often thus it allows them to wait longer between lines. Also it’s a huge commitment from the chapter and its members. The chapter is required to have the proper staff and be in good standing as a chapter.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I've heard too. But fraternities (and other sorority chapters) seem to do intake more often, so I wonder why it's easier for some and not others.
Delete11:30 - cause those other sorority have lower numbers/members. DST and aka are the most popular in numbers, and many of their members stay in that chapter. There really isn’t a need for intake often on the grad level.
DeleteThis is understandable but 5 years should be sufficient for that. Waiting a decade (sometimes longer) is crazy.
DeleteRe: Anon @1/22 - I agree. I know each org is different but wonder why it works for other orgs and not this one. I really hope they reconsider and establish a mandatory cap soon.
Yes, but are plenty of Delta chapters that have intake every 3-6 years, depending on the region/state/area. But maybe those service areas don't have the large turnout that other chapters/areas do.
Delete@11:20 Exactly. You said exactly what I was thinking. Frats and other D9 sororities have RUSH wayyyyy more often (on the alumni level). If active members, the work, the commitment, staffing, etc., was the reason for not having RUSH as often (and it's a very valid reason), I'd think we'd see that same consistency across other D9 orgs.
ReplyDeleteHey ladies! I haven’t seen anyone list their timeline yet and I know it’s still early but wanted to get it started
ReplyDeleteNorthern VA rush: 1/19
Apps due: 1/29
I think we’ll get calls back for interviews in a couple weeks π€πΎ
Not nearly as many people there as in previous years. For anyone else that was there, what did you think? #HopefulinVA
